Four years equates to approximately 2 million minutes; some of those minutes fly by and some feel interminably long. How do high school students around the world – those lucky enough to attend high school – spend their 2 million minutes? Before examining ‘high achieving’ students from three countries (USA, China, and India), take a moment to reflect on your own experience and how you spent your 2 million minutes? Part I: How did you spend your 2 million minutes in HS? Using a pie chart and your best memory, approximate the % of time you spent doing various activities in your four years of high school. It might be helpful to think of this in terms of hours dedicated to different activities in a typical week and extrapolate from there. Here’s an example (feel free to use your own categories and methods of calculation): II.
