How does our Nation’s interior border security strategy complement or detract from the more border-centric security efforts?Course Syllabus: Border security is a crucial part of our country’s homeland security efforts; however, many do not realize its complexity. Securing the nation’s borders is a multifaceted and complex task comprised of often seemingly competing objectives that cross over multiple homeland security domains, as well as jurisdictions. This course examines the United States’ approach to securing its borders within the larger context of homeland security. Students will analyze our nation’s border security strategies, policies, agencies, coordinating structures, and the associated legal and jurisdictional authorities through which border security is effectuated. Students will also assess the various internal and external threats and hindrances to securing America’s borders that still persist. This course is designed to enhance the student’s ability to think critically about border security and our nation’s approach to securing its borders. It will equip the student with the necessary knowledge to effectively evaluate current border security strategies as well as propose policy changes related to border security in order to enhance the nation’s homeland security posture.

Step 1: Select one of the following topics from Healthy People 2030 or any that you have an interest in developing a logic model Cardiovascular disease Step 2: Identify an evidence-based health promotion/risk reduction intervention to address the topic you selected. You can use an intervention from Healthy People 2030 or a research article. NOTE: most research articles or systematic reviews will not have all the details necessary to complete the logic model. In this case, you still need to complete all logic model columns and be creative (and realistic) as you do this. Step 3:In one brief paragraph, describe your intervention. Include location, resources needed, personnel, intervention content, strategies and ‘dose’. Examples of strategies are: home visits, individual or group interventions, physical activity, problem solving, multi component interventions or others. Thedose indicates the amount of intervention included. Is it a 30 minute health care encounter (dose would be 30 minutes), or 6 group meetings each lasting 60 minutes (dose would be 360 minutes). Step 4: Using the logic model template, state the intervention goal. State one process and one outcome objective using SMART format for each objective. Step 5: Complete the logic model template using the evidence-based intervention you selected.

She states that your team is doing an excellent job researching and you’ve been keeping her up-to-date on your findings. She commends you for your focus on effective management strategies because your team has been looking at every aspect of the company and considering both internal and external pros and cons. Hurdle rates will typically encourage projects with a higher rate of return. Firms might typically have multiple hurdle rates when their assessment of risk varies. Student 2Hurdle rates are used by firms to measure the break-even of a project or future endeavor. Internal rate of return is a measure either higher or lower than the hurdle rate. If IRR is higher than the hurdle rate, than the project is most likely a good investment. The problem with comparing the IRR with the hurdle weight is it only takes in account the percentage, not the amount of cash received.

You are the administrator on call for Hospital A and are responsible for accepting and rejecting patients. What decision will you make as the administrator? Explain. Based on this scenario, what could be implemented to prevent this type of situation from occurring in the future? Under what scenario would the Hospital A physician be concerned about an EMTALA situation?
