Scenario 1 You are the security manager of a business of approximately 25 people and working in a small building. Your business is in a suburban area outside of a major city. You have received unverified information that a former employee (terminated for sexual harassment) has threatened to “shoot the place up”. The employee has been diagnosed with a history of mental illness and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from military service in Iraq. What other information would you need to conduct a further Threat Assessment and how would you mitigate the risk to the company? Course Syllabus: This course examines the concepts, methods, and practices associated with risk management and threat assessment from an all-hazard perspective. Students will learn how to conduct hazard and risk analysis for both the public and private sectors.  This course will include identifying and profiling hazards, analyzing and assessing hazard risk, developing tactics to manage risk, examining a multiple of risk assessment tools, and communicating risk to the public. Participants will examine critical infrastructure sectors and associated interdependencies, cascading consequences, and shared vulnerabilities. Students will perform their own risk analysis and develop recommendations for policy makers as part of this curriculum.

However, within the plot there are various ideas to consider that drive the plot such as the conflicts or tensions (among characters and internally).Read over the section in our book that discusses plot (11-14) before, during, or as you write your journal.Both readings for today present similar conflicts and both end in the same basic way (you figure it out!). What aspects of the plot make these readings captivating or what drives the stories? Perhaps you could consider your involvement in a similar situation. Perhaps you may be drawn in because of the way the conflict progresses or resolves. Or perhaps you may select to discuss one or two aspects of plot structure mentioned in the book and write about them (exposition, complication, crisis, climax, resolution or dénouement, etc.).Essentially, I’m looking for you to practice framing a reading with plot in mind.Will also send pages of books as well.

The purpose of this analysis is to continue to learn from and develop a rapport with the family. This activity will help students work with their host to identify a challenge, need, or interest that you will help the host address. In the Field Note, you are expected to describe the specific activities that you observed and participated in during your visit. You will also be expected to reflect upon your visits, making sure to connect your experiences with the family to the readings and lectures from class. Be sure to appropriately cite the readings and lectures that are referenced in the reflection logs in the text and in a reference list that is properly formatted (APA or MLA style). This section should contain a lot of details about the environment, the people, the activities, and the interactions that you had with the host and the children. This section should be about 2 paragraphs.

Based on your reading of Chapter 10, submit an example of a real-life moral situation showing the application of deontological principles found either in your own experience or from newspapers, magazines, or movies. Briefly (150-175 words) explain why you think the situation you are describing is an example of deontological principles in action. You should look in newspapers, TV news, or magazines for examples of moral situations where someone made a moral decision for the sake of a moral principle or duty. For example, you might see in the news the case of a taxi driver that at the end of a day of work, upon returning his cab to the garage, found a briefcase in the backseat of the car containing $35,000.00 in cash. The briefcase contained no identification that could lead to the owner of the money. Despite his dire need for cash (he could use the money to pay for the surgery of his wife with breast cancer) he decided to deliver the money to the police. When asked by the reporter why he had done that, he responded that the money didn’t belong to him and he had a duty to give it to police. Use the concepts learned in chapter 10 to explain why the situation you are describing is an application of deontological principles. Do not discuss the same example that I am using here for illustration. Find your own example.
