The Small Business Interview is meant to offer a “real life” learning experience for students. It starts with selecting a subject to interview, and it needs to be domestic (U.S.) small to medium sized business and not a relative. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the instructor. It is strongly suggested that students use this to further their career aspirations, i.e. interviewing someone that is already in a business or industry that the student wishes to pursue. This will make the assignment more interesting and practical.Students need to prepare for this interview by developing a brief set of questions that can guide the conversation. However, please be aware that some of the questions need to be open-ended, meaning that the interviewee can elaborate (in contrast to close-ended questions that request a specific answer). The assignment will be graded with the following criteria:A brief history of the interviewee’s history and experience in his/her businessAn application of class theory, especially the entrepreneurial profile as noted in Chapter 1 (i.e. the student’s observation of entrepreneurial traits)Some quotes/paraphrases on recommendations that the interviewee has for entrepreneurs and small business owners.Assignments are expected to be 4 pages of text (not including the Cover Page of any Appendices), in Word, with a font size of 12 and 1.0 line spacing.

How was Adolf Hitler able to persuade so many people? What type of social influence was used, which techniques of social influence and persuasion can you identify, and how could people have resisted? How did Jim Jones convince people to leave their lives behind and travel to a new beginning in Jonestown? These are not specific questions for you to answer, rather they are posted to make you think about the material we have covered in this section.Discuss a specific point from the reading and clearly state whether you are discussing a type of social influence, a specific type of persuasion or influence, and provide an example. You can provide an example from the above quote, from the Jonestown Massacre and cult (the link was attached in this module), or provide an example of your own from other leaders or world events. For example: On January 6, 2021, people descended in Washington D.C. to object to the certification of the 2020 election results. Would you have joined others in peacefully protesting or joined in with the mob as it stormed the capitol, and if so, would this be due to “social influence” or “persuasion”? Would an individual storm the capitol by themselves? There are many examples you can choose from.Post a specific example of the type of influence / persuasion technique shown, and please be sure to discuss the specific concept by name from this weeks reading.

When politics and medical science intersect, there can be much debate. Sometimes anecdotes or hearsay are misused as evidence to support a particular point. Despite these and other challenges, however, evidence-based approaches are increasingly used to inform health policy decision-making regarding causes of disease, intervention strategies, and issues impacting society. One example is the introduction of childhood vaccinations and the use of evidence-based arguments surrounding their safety. In this Discussion, you will identify a recently proposed health policy and share your analysis of the evidence in support of this policy. To Prepare:Review the Congress website provided in the Resources and identify one recent (within the past 5 years) proposed health policy.Review the health policy you identified and reflect on the background and development of this health policy.By Day 3 of Week 7Post a description of the health policy you selected and a brief background for the problem or issue being addressed. Explain whether you believe there is an evidence base to support the proposed policy and explain why. Be specific and provide examples.By Day 6 of Week 7Respond to at least two of your colleagues* on two different days by either supporting or respectfully challenging their explanation on whether there is an evidence base to support the proposed health policy they described.

1) Research a director, actor, playwright, THEATRE choreographer, or composer/lyricist whose work we studied this semester. The only playwright you may NOT research is Shakespeare, because the topic is huge. Seems like an easy idea, right? It’s not! These papers sometimes turn out poorly because they become like encyclopedia lists rather than essays. If you do this, you must love the person (intellectually, artistically) and have something you really want to say about him or her: “Samuel Beckett’s bleak world view expressed the horrors of his time,” etc. “Ira Aldridge, the first black man to play Othello, transcended but ultimately succumbed to the racism of the English speaking theatre.” Why is your person important? It is a lot of men, I know. That’s theatre history for you! Please note, I added a few names to the list (Aeschylus, Viola Davis, Lin-Manuel Miranda (6/24), Anna Deavere Smith (Week 5), and took away Marlon Brando (because he is really more of a film actor). INTRODUCTION The following case study example is located in Chapter 4 of your textbook. It poses a situation that might confront any student or new preschool teacher. Read and respond to the questions posed based on the situation described. ASSIGNMENT (read the case study below) Circle time is the most challenging time of the preschool day for Lisa, a recent college graduate who is new to early childhood education. She struggles with keeping the children engaged and sitting cross-legged for the thirty-minute daily circle. Some of the preschoolers roll around on the floor, while others cannot keep their hands to themselves. Based on what you know about typical child development, what suggestions would you give to Lisa regarding circle time? Â Tell why you think Lisa is having the problems she is with circle time. Describe the techniques/activities you would use during this time that you think would eliminate the problems she described. Tell each technique or way you would prevent these problems from occurring and why do you think they are more appropriate for this age group than the circle time she has been conducting. Refer to information in Chapter 4 to support your responses. Write a 1-page paper (200-300 words) responding to the case study situation above. Be sure to respond fully to the questions posed and make sure you do NOT simply state your own personal opinion.Â

I’m working on a social science question and need support to help me learn. Imagine you’re going to be interviewing or reviewing applications for the job of President of the United States (POTUS). Read Article II of the US Constitution and figure out what you think the qualifications for the job might be. From there you have a few things to do: Step 1:You can either … A) Write up a job description for the job that you might post for recruiting people to apply for the job. orB) Write up a list of questions you might ask someone who is applying for the job. Or you can write up a process that would allow you to select or find the best person for the job of POTUS. Step 2:Remember, this should not be based on your personal preferences or contemporary issues, but rather on what you take from what is written in Article II. So be careful to root your work in Article II and write a paragraph that explains how what you did in Step 1 reflects what you took out of Article II. Step 3:Then review prior people who have served in the office and see who you think the last person was who held the office who had the requisite skill set. Which is to say, when do you think the last time was the Electoral College got it right according to Article II. Who was the last president who met the criteria and was, according to Article II, qualified and fit to serve as President of the United States?
